What you’ll do:

This will be our first ‘in house’ role and we are looking for someone who can take the reigns across a broad spectrum of communications and marketing areas as we scale to 100M DAUs and beyond across the globe:

  • This is our first hire in Communications and Marketing, meaning you will be hands on, getting in the weeds,  as well as creating and leading our overall strategy
  • Work with our leadership to develop a global strategy across all forms of communication
  • Craft the foundational materials needed to deliver compelling, consistent narratives – both internally and externally
  • You will manage external agency relationships across all geographies
  • Tailor global storytelling to different markets
  • Build and maintain relationships with key reporters
  • Work with leadership to hone the overall impression and view of the brand
  • Develop  social strategies across both comms and marketing
  • Be ready for anything and everything (we are still a scrappy startup) and know how to best support each issue quickly (be it yourself,  outside support or relevant experts)

What you’ll bring:

  • You will bring senior experience ideally from a Socials or Consumer Product background
  • You will bring a broad range of marketing and communications experience from Product, Crisis Management, Executive and everything in between
  • Deep brand and marketing experience with a keen understanding of our user base
  • You will have a demonstrated track record of delivering on cross functional comms/marketing projects (i.e., taking a product roadmap and building a 3-6 month strategy for each of the disciplines with their team–comms, branding, marketing–to deliver on measurable goals)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and be comfortable acting as a company spokesperson
  • Strong, established relationships with a broad range of media and outlets
  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with broad responsibilities. While Communications and Marketing expertise is expected we need someone with a keen business sense, a strong work ethic, and practiced interpersonal discipline
  • You have the ability to operate independently, proactively, and cross-functionally with teams across the organization
  • You are a self-starter who works well with minimal supervision, but shows excellent judgment about when to look to managers and teammates for guidance, and when and how to communicate with diverse stakeholders
  • Most of all, a passion for BeReal and an excitement to help develop our brand message
  • You will be based in the US or Europe, but have extensive experience supporting a global business with users all over the world

Where you’ll be:

  • We are a distributed workforce enabling our team to find a work mode that is best for them! We trust our team members to get great work done.
  • We have an office based in Paris and if you are in Europe you would be expected to come to the office for a few days each month (it’s fun to get to know everyone)
