National Account Manager

Diptyque- Luxury Fragrance House has established itself as one of the most renowned, leading fragrance houses within the luxury market today. Founded in 1961, the Maison is known for its mix of iconic scented candles, personal fragrances, bath and body products, and home décor. Its flagship boutique is in Paris’ 5th arrondissement at 34 Boulevard Saint Germain.

We are seeking an energetic and results-driven National Account Manager to join our sales team. Candidate will be responsible for achieving sales and growth objectives of wholesale department store accounts for Diptyque North America. As a key member of the sales team, the role will develop and implement a strong sales strategy while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize the plan.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Build and manage annual budgets for sell in and sell out by account, including monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts
  • Build, manage and achieve sell-out budgets in collaboration with Regional Sales Managers – includes by account and by door plans
  • Manage P&Ls for the retail partner account
  • Develop and execute account strategies to increase rank and share within each retailer and market
  • Establish strategic partnerships with Divisional Merchandising Managers, Buyers and Planners to secure strong inventory levels, programs, staffing, and space
  • Develop, negotiate, and secure 360 trade marketing programs to deliver in-store and online sales including events and animations
  • Negotiate and secure strategic space and location in stores
  • Negotiate and analyze staffing agreements including productivity analysis
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative marketing, sales and education strategies to drive sales
  • Manage product assortment for each retail partner
  • Forecast and deliver new product launches and support material programs
  • Present marketing programs to all retail partners; conduct planning meetings
  • Attend monthly demand consensus meetings to align sales and marketing strategies with demand plan
  • Optimize open-to-buy and analyze in-store stock levels ensuring planned levels are met
  • Conduct ongoing market visits to identify business opportunities
  • Provide competitive reviews of sales, products, and programs
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and annual reporting on sales performance including SBSs
  • Work with cross-functional teams on the creation of sales proposals and presentations
  • Demonstrate excellent product knowledge and visual merchandising execution
  • Work closely with retailer visual merchandising teams and wholesale visual merchandise manager to develop and execute appropriate merchandizing solutions

Measurements of Success

  • Delivery of annual commercial targets for each account
  • Sell in/Sell out budget achievement, improved rank, and market share
  • Clear and measurable JBP’s in place by retailer
  • Effective P&L management
  • Measurable improvements in merchandising within the accounts
  • All programs and plans delivered in full and on time

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in sales, account management
  • Experience in Luxury beauty, and wholesale experience
  • Experience and relationships within the wholesale space a plus
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills; can build and manage budgets, forecasts, and account P&L
  • Extensive experience developing & executing sales strategies and plans
  • ·Exceptional knowledge of wholesale business acumen, online marketing, trade marketing best practices
  • Strong relationship building skills to establish new partnerships and existing ones
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to negotiate
